Die Bezugnahmen auf Differenz und Identität könnten unterschiedlicher kaum sein: Was den einen als Lösung erscheint, gilt den anderen als Problem: Soll Identität oder Differenz hervorgebracht, unterstützt, dekonstruiert oder kritisiert werden? Eine Bestimmung von Identität und Differenz benötigt eine Reflexion auf deren Implikationen und Begründungsmöglichkeiten, auf gesellschaftliche Strukturen und Prozesse sowie auf Bedingungen der Subjektkonstitution. Identität und Differenz stehen dabei in der Kritik und gleichzeitig als Werkzeuge für Kritik zur Diskussion. Im Sammelband analysieren die Autor/-innen die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen reflexiver Bezugnahmen auf Identität und Differenz sowie deren Verhältnisbestimmungen.
