    "abstract" : "Der Stahlsektor ist der zweitgrößte Industriesektor in Deutschland und weist die höchsten Treibhausgasemissionen  auf, da er noch stark auf kohlenstoffbasierte Rohstoffe und den Verbrauch fossiler Brennstoffe angewiesen ist. Etwa  7 - 9 % der weltweiten CO2-Emissionen werden durch die Stahlindustrie verursacht. Pro Tonne produziertem Stahl  werden derzeit ca. 1,9 t CO2 ausgestoßen. Dies entspricht einer Gesamtmenge von ca. 67 Mio. t CO2-Emissionen/Jahr,  die allein durch die deutsche Stahlindustrie verursacht werden. Um die Klimaziele der Europäischen Union – Klima-  neutralität bis 2050 – zu erreichen, ist eine Dekarbonisierung der Stahlindustrie unerlässlich. Eine vielversprechende  Lösung ist die Verwendung von Wasserstoff als Reduktionsmittel in sogenannten Direktreduktionsverfahren. Dabei  wird Eisenerz mit Wasserstoff zu festem Eisenschwamm reduziert, der anschließend in einem Lichtbogenofen zu  Stahl verschmolzen wird. Wenn der Wasserstoff durch eine Wasser-Elektrolyse mit erneuerbaren Energien hergestellt  wird, entstehen nahezu keine CO2-Emissionen. Man spricht dann von „grünem Stahl“ bzw. der Green Steel-Route.  Haupthindernisse des erforderlichen Industriewandels sind unter anderem die ungeklärte Frage, wie der erforderliche  Wasserstoff innerhalb Deutschlands transportiert werden soll (Kernnetz). Zudem sind bei einer teilweisen Eigenver-  sorgung Deutschlands mit Wasserstoff Wasser- und Landkonflikte ungelöst. Der vorliegende Artikel beleuchtet die  wasserwirtschaftliche Situation bei der Herstellung von Stahl mittels elektrolytisch hergestelltem grünem Wasserstoff  sowie die möglichen Auswirkungen der Green Steel-Route auf die deutschen Wasserressourcen vor dem Hintergrund  der deutschen Importstrategie für Wasserstoff. Diese sieht vor, dass 50-70 % des gesamten Bedarfs importiert werden  müssen, aber derzeit sind weder konkrete Lieferanten vorhanden, noch existiert die erforderliche Infrastruktur des  Verteilernetzes. Hier setzen die Überlegungen an: Was wäre, wenn die deutsche Stahlindustrie selber den Wasserstoff  aus deutschen Quellen erzeugen müsste?",
