    "abstract" : "Per- und polyfluorierte Alkylsubstanzen (PFAS) stellen aufgrund ihrer extremen Persistenz, weltweiten Verbreitung und gesundheitlichen Risiken eine der zentralen umwelt- und chemikalienpolitischen Herausforderungen Europas dar. Die Europäische Union reagiert darauf mit einem umfassenden regulatorischen Ansatz, der von sektoralen Einzelregelungen bis hin zum geplanten gruppenweiten Verbot im Rahmen der REACH-Verordnung reicht. Die Arbeit analysiert die politischen Entscheidungsprozesse, die Beteiligung und Interessen zentraler Akteure, bestehende Rechtsvorschriften sowie den aktuellen Stand des EU-Beschränkungsverfahrens. Ergänzend wird untersucht, welche sozioökonomischen Auswirkungen, technologischen Herausforderungen und potenziellen Chancen mit einer PFAS-Restriktion verbunden sind. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Regulierung ein komplexes Zusammenspiel von Umwelt-, Gesundheits- und Industrieinteressen erfordert. Gleichzeitig wird deutlich, dass nur ein differenziertes, wissenschaftlich fundiertes und sektorspezifisch umsetzbares Regulierungskonzept sowohl den Schutz von Mensch und Umwelt als auch die industrielle Innovationsfähigkeit gewährleisten kann.",
