    "abstract" : "The role of museums, conservators, and individuals involved in preservation and conservation is reviewed. The profiles of the different players are identified and described. A strategic role plays the NGO ICOM (International Council of Museums) and the sub- committee ICOM-CC-Committee for Conservation. It is the largest group within this international museums’ association and its role is to promote the perspectives of conservation/restoration and state of the art research topics. ICOMCC is per se a platform for networking, for spreading knowledge, and for bringing together specialists from all over the world. In order to increase the visibility of research questions and their solutions in terms of content, society, and politics, traditional methods such as conferences and meetings are required, as well as new interaction models. All members should be open to virtual learning tools, interactive didactic methods, and new communication formats such as Fishbowl, Heckathones, or icebreaker poll questions within the current Open-Source-Learning initiatives.",
