    "abstract" : "Im letzten Beitrag wurde dargestellt, dass die EU-Kommission seit einigen Jahren das Feld der Forschungspolitik verstärkt an sich zieht. Wissenschaft wird als ganz entscheidende strategische Ressource angesehen, um die politischen und ökonomischen Ziele der EU zu verwirklichen – eine Rolle, die die Wissenschaft aus Sicht der EU-Kommission bislang nicht ausreichend ausfüllt. entscheidender Kritikpunkt ist dabei nicht etwa eine zu geringe Anzahl an Forschern oder ein zu geringer wissenschaftlicher Output, sondern – ganz so, wie das auch auf nationaler Ebene in Deutschland gesehen wird – ein mangelnder wirtschaftlicher (!) Innovationsbeitrag der Wissenschaft, der sich bspw. in vergleichsweise geringen Patentanmeldungen niederschlage. Die Forschungspolitik der EU konzentriert sich deswegen auf einige Handlungsfelder, mit denen das Potenzial des europäischen Forschungsraumes gehoben werden soll.",
