    "abstract" : "Der Einsatz von ultravioletter Strahlung (UV-Strahlung) in der Industrie hat in den letzten Jahren ständig zugenommen. Besonders im Bereich der durch Strahlung induzierten Polymerisation von Farben   und Klebstoffen wurden viele Anlagen und Apparate mit Anschlussleistungen in der Größenordnung von einigen hundert Watt bis zu einigen Kilowatt installiert. Von größter Bedeutung für den Strahlenschutz sind aber nach wie vor Arbeitsplätze mit Exposition durch Verfahren, die UV-Strahlung unerwünscht produzieren, insbesondere Lichtbogenschweißen.  Im privaten Bereich gibt es auch einige Anwendungen bei denen UV-Strahlung eingesetzt wird, wie z. B. UV-Pflanzenlampen, Solarien, UV-Entkeimungslampen, UVInsektenfallen, UV-Nagellackhärtungsgeräte. Mit der UV-Thematik bei Sonnenstrahlung und Laserstrahlung befasst sich dieser Leitfaden nicht. Hierzu sind vom Fachverband für Strahlenschutz ein separater Leitfaden „Sonnenstrahlung“ und ein Leitfaden „Laserstrahlung“ erarbeitet worden. Hinweis: Die Blaulichtgefährdung ist von 300 nm bis 700 nm definiert. Sie wird im Leitfaden „Sichtbare und infrarote Strahlung“ behandelt. Bei UV-Strahlung von 300 nm bis 400 nm muss diese Gefährdung zusätzlich berücksichtigt werden. Grundsätzlich sind die Schadenswirkungen von künstlich erzeugter und natürlicher UV-Strahlung gleich (siehe Leitfaden „Sonnenstrahlung“). Im Vergleich zur Exposition durch natürliche UV-Strahlung gibt es im Umgang mit künstlich erzeugter UV-Strahlung folgende Besonderheiten: die Quellen befinden sich unter lokaler Kontrolle (Sicherheit durch technische –, organisatorische Maßnahmen oder Einsatz von persönlicher Schutzausrüstung realisierbar - man kann z. B. die Quelle abschalten) - u. U. Möglichkeit der Exposition durch hochenergetisches UV-C (wird bei der Sonnenstrahlung durch die Ozonschicht ausgefiltert) - auf eine natürliche Abwehr/Anpassung kann im Allgemeinen nicht gebaut werden, weil u. a. künstlich erzeugte UV-Strahlung oft keine wahrnehmbaren Strahlungsanteile wie die Sonnenstrahlung enthält. Im Gegensatz zur häufigen „Ganzkörperexposition“ durch Sonnenstrahlung, werden im Zusammenhang mit künstlichen UV-Quellen wohl vorwiegend nur Gesicht, Hände und Augen exponiert.",
