Aus verschiedenen Gründen sind tieffrequente Immissionen in diesem Kontext besonders problematisch. Insbesondere ist auch das anzuwendende Regelwerk DIN 45680 primär für andere Lärmarten konzipiert worden und stellt den Veranstaltungssektor vor verschiedene Herausforderungen. Im Rahmen eines vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) geförderten Forschungsvorhabens soll ein Vorschlag für ein auf den Veranstaltungsbereich zugeschnittenes Mess- und Beurteilungsverfahren erarbeitet werden. Dazu sollen unter anderem Immissionsmessungen inklusive subjektiven Beurteilungen bei Veranstaltungen, bauphysikalische Messungen an Fassaden sowie psychoakustische Experimente durchgeführt werden.
