        bibo:abstract           "Essential for the success of the energy transition are public support and engagement. This qualitative   research study, conducted in Germany, investigates society's acceptance and willingness to act in the context of   transformation, focusing on photovoltaic technology (PV) as an example. The study is part of the joint project   \"MEnergie - Meine Energiewende,\" which aims to identify specific information needs of various stakeholder groups   in Germany and promote informed decision-making.   Key findings from this study indicate a positive overall attitude towards the energy transition and renewable energy   among the surveyed population. Participants recognized the importance of transitioning to renewable energy sources   but demonstrated limited knowledge about energy consumption, costs, and efficiency. The perception of PV technology   was influenced by economic considerations, with concerns about elevated costs and perceived inefficiency in Germany   due to low insolation levels.   The study highlighted the need for improved information dissemination, simplified approval procedures and expert   guidance to support citizens in adopting PV systems. It also emphasized the importance of addressing bureaucratic   barriers and strengthening funding opportunities to accelerate the energy transition. Additionally, the study revealed   that societal motivation for energy conservation had increased in response to external factors such as geopolitical events   and natural disasters." ;
