    "description" : "Ausgangspunkt der Forschungsinitiative ist eine Modellfabrik, in der Studentinnen und Studenten des Wirtschaftsingenieurwesens die interdisziplinären Prozesse einer ganzheitlichen Produktionseinheit studieren und praktisch anwenden. Die Modellfabrik zeigt im Wesentlichen alle Arbeitsstationen und Abläufe aus der metallverarbeitenden Industrie. Hier befindet sich auch ein komplett integrierter Ablauf der zugehörigen Logistik-IT, von der Initiierung von Kundenaufträgen über die Planung von Produktions- und Bestellvorgängen bis zur zugehörigen Abwicklung der Produktion inklusive der Rückmeldungen und Qualitätskontrolle der Endprodukte. Die installierte Hardware beinhaltet u. a. ein vollautomatisiertes Hochregallager, eine Produktionslinie, CNC-gesteuerte Dreh- und Fräsmaschinen, eine industrielle Säge, Bohrmaschinen, Roboterarme zum Greifen und Bewegen von Materialien, eine laserbasierte Graviermaschine und einen voll ausgestatteten Arbeitsbereich zur Qualitätskontrolle mit einer Vielzahl von entsprechenden Messapparaturen. In einer 3D-Virtual-Reality-Umgebung wird die Modellfabrik mit ihren Produktionsabläufen modelliert und als 3D VR Serious Game in Lernprozesse eingebunden. Die in einer ersten Vorarbeit umgesetzten Spiele konnten bereits das große Potenzial für verbesserte Lernprozesse sowie Kosteneinsparungen aufzeigen.",
