In hybrid+smart arbeitet die TH Köln gemeinsam mit dem Institut für Produktionstechnik und -organisation gGmbH (IPTO) an der Entwicklung, Erprobung und Validierung dieses innovativen Konzepts. Hierfür wird ein Demonstrator aufgebaut und in Laborexperimenten und Feldtests eingesetzt, für den die fertigungs- und montagegerechte Konstruktion sowie abgestimmte Parameter der Energiewandler im Vordergrund stehen. Die TH Köln ist im Rahmen des Projekts für die Umsetzung der Technologie verantwortlich. Die Arbeit des IPTO konzentriert sich auf Aspekte der Produktionsplanung und der Vermarktung." .
